WARNING....Robberies on Zim roads - AA

Johannesburg - The Automobile Association (AA) on Tuesday warned against travelling after dark in foreign countries after reports of robberies on the road to Harare in Zimbabwe.

AA public affairs manager Gary Ronald said robbers had been targeting people just north of the Beit Bridge border with Zimbabwe.

"The incidents happen at the junction of the A4 and A6 just outside Beit Bridge and invariably after dark."

The criminals target cars travelling slowly at the junction by puncturing the tyres.

When the driver stops to check the vehicle, the occupants are attacked and robbed. Every incident reported to the AA has occurred after dark.

"Travellers should plan their trips to allow enough time to complete border formalities and get to their destination before dark", said Ronald.

Mugabe in Presidential looting of ARDA.

The Presidential loot....
Please allow me space in your newspaper to make my contribution. Sometimes when you listen to western media at face value you nearly think that these guys are alarmists. However, getting down to the bottom of issues reveals the dirty side that even we in Zimbabwe may not even know.

I have always respected Mugabe as President and nearly believed that he was a perfectionist and a corruption free man. Not until I got to know how much land he got for himself under the land reform programme.
The Zimbabwean issue of 1 October 1, 2009 gave an account of the Norton farms but in total, Robert Matibili has 13 farms under his control with a combined hectorage of over 10 000 ha. The following table shows the loot and its spatial distribution in Mashonaland provinces.

What is appalling is that here is a man who should be proving to the whole world that land redistribution was necessary because whites used to own vast tracts of land while the black majority had nothing.

Instead, he sees himself in the shoes of the whites, owning 10 000 hectares of land when other villagers in Murombedzi have nothing. More so, all these properties are manned by police protection units PPU whose salaries are paid by the tax payers. Reports of the same PPUs raping and harassing farm workers are rampant but they never get reported.

My source has revealed that all these farms are being managed by Made, through ARDA. A handful of employees have been forced to work at these farms except a few who have opted out. These employees work under the cover of Gushungo Enterprises although all their salaries and vehicles are supplied by ARDA.

The new CEO Mvududu did not last because he wanted all these issues accounted for.

He was fired and the incompetent Mbona who is yes man to Made was brought back from corruption related suspension to head the loss making Parastatal. The 13 farms are said to be in poor state with equipment not being repaired although part of the financing is coming from Grace’s mining ventures in Chiadzwa and Chinhoyi in partnership with a Chinese known at ZMDC as Jack. The mining investment vehicle has also very strong stake in SABOT Transport which is owned by the diamond tycoon Billy Rautenback. This explains why ARDA has parcelled out highly productive land at Middle Sabi, Chisumbanje and Nandi estates for almost free.

Billy has also taken over the land that was in dispute between ARDA and DTZ at Nuanetsi ranches. All these allocations and machinations are being engineered by Agriculture Minister Made so that no one questions him about the SPECIALISED FARM EQUIPMENT at his farm which can only be found at governor Gono’s Donington farm and Mugabe’s Highfield farm.

Sipepa notorious wife-snatcher - Dabengwa.

MDC-T legislator Mr Samuel Sipepa-Nkomo is a notorious wife-snatcher whose lies about ZAPU and its interim chairman Dumiso Dabengwa reflects narrow-mindedness and political opportunism, ZAPU's Director for Communication and Marketing Mr Methuseli Moyo has said.

Mr Moyo was reacting to a story published in The Zim Diaspora in which Sipepa-Nkomo, in the presence of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai attacked ZAPU interim chairman Dumiso Dabengwa and also claimed that ZAPU died when Joshua Nkomo died. Mr Moyo says Dabengwa's arrest and subsequent fours of imprisonment by Mugabe despite many years fighting for the liberation of the country speaks volumes of Dabengwa's principles.

Mr Moyo describes Sipepa-Nkomo's political opportunism in detail including  fronting of what he refers to as an imported political ideology.

Mr Moyo also says it is disappointing to here such lies from Mr Sipepa-Nkomo, a man who became a minister through the back door after he and other MDC-T MPs from Matabeleland blackmailed Tsvangirai to include them in his cabinet.

By Methuseli Moyo, Director Communication and Marketing, Zapu

The attack on our party, Zapu by MDC-T’s Mr Samuel Sipepa Nkomo

Needless to say, the attack comes as a no surprise to Zapu because attacking Zapu has become an industry for political opportunists who have nothing to offer and are intimidated by the revival of Zapu.

Zapu wants to bring to Sipepa-Nkomo and other narrow-minded politicians’ attention that democracy is about plurality of views and political parties. It is sad that there are people who want to monopolise politics and want to give the impression that only they should be allowed to challenge Zanu-PF for power.

For the record, the people of Zimbabwe in general, and the people of Matabeleland that Mr Sipepa-Nkomo mentioned in particular, have risked their lives and limbs giving support to Mr Sipepa-Nkomo’s party, which has however failed to translate electoral advantage into political power. That is precisely the reason why we have revived Zapu, because we believe our party has the political muscle, grassroots support, revolutionary attributes and tried and tested leadership to dislodge Zanu-PF from power, which we are confident Zapu will do come election time.

On the contrary, Mr Sipepa-Nkomo’s MDC-T neither has capable leadership, revolutionary attributes, nor well-rooted support on the ground. The fact that a vacuum in opposition politics has allowed the MDC-T to get this far should not fool anyone that they are a serious national political party. They are not and Zapu is.

The MDC-T is a political accident created by non-Zimbabweans and fronted locally by plain folks whose narrow-mindedness wants to take us back to the political bickering and violence we witnessed in the past decade.

A two-party system lives people with no option and divided into “for us or against us”, and expose them to violence and intimidation. Any serious thinking person would welcome the arrival of a true political giant like Zapu to add a third force and thereby extinguish political tensions caused by the two-party system.

Contrary to Mr Sipepa-Nkomo’s claims, Zapu has no money, has no furniture, has no office equipment and no vehicles, which the MDC-T has all this in abundance but has failed dismally to remove Zanu-PF from power.

The fact that our party has achieved political impact of the magnitude displayed by the fear in our opponents even without resources for now speaks volumes of what Zapu is capable of doing. If there is a party that has money it is the MDC-T which sadly is using it negatively to finance doomed regime change projects such as the so-called parallel government.

Mr Sipepa-Nkomo needs to be reminded that an anti-Mugabe or anti-Zanu-PF vote in Matabeleland or anywhere else is not necessarily a pro-Tsvangirai vote. A multi-party election like the one we are headed to will prove that.

It is ironic that such comments come from Mr Sipepa-Nkomo, who became a minister through the back door after he and other MDC-T MPs from Matabeleland blackmailed Tsvangirai to include them in his cabinet.

That Mr Sipepa-Nkomo himself was eventually appointed cabinet minister does not mean the MDC-T leadership has changed its view about Ndebeles, as evidenced by Sekai Holland’s recent comments about King Mzilikazi and the Ndebeles, and the subsequent indifferent attitude towards her comment by Mr Tsvangirai and the rest of the MDC-T leadership.

Mr Sipepa-Nkomo needs to read a copy of an internal MDC 2005 commission of inquiry report which established that the split of the party in 2005 was caused by tribalism, ostensibly the fear that “Ndebeles would takeover the party” if Tsvangirai was convicted of his then treason trial. In case Mr Sipepa-Nkomo has not seen the report, we can furnish him with a copy. The MDC-T no longer deserves the support of the people of Zimbabwe, and those of Matabeleland in particular Mr Sipepa-Nkomo.

On his comments that Zapu died with the late Vice President Nkomo, Mr Sipepa-Nkomo is not being sincere because he knows Zapu is alive and will live forever. If there is any party that smells death it is his MDC-T, which failed countless times to win an election against a governing party presiding over an economy with the highest inflation in history. In any case, Dr Nkomo was not Zapu and Zapu was not Dr Nkomo. It is as simple as that.

The anti-Zapu revival crusade has run out of ideas and is sounding illogical and monotonous. They say Dr Nkomo died with Zapu, and then say Zapu is in Zanu-PF. Which is which?

Mr Sipepa-Nkomo’s comments are self-contradictory, typical of people who have nothing to say. In any case, Zapu is not an item or company and has an “owner”.

As for his allegations that Zapu interim national chairman Dr Dumiso Dabengwa is a “Zanu-PF agent”, we refer Sipepa-Nkomo and other conspiration theorists to Dr Dumiso’s well-documented fight against Zanu-PF and his illegal four-year imprisonment by Zanu-PF after independence, and his fight against injustice within Zanu-PF during the unity era.

We know more about Mr Sipepa-Nkomo and he must stop telling lies about Zapu or else be prepared to be embarrassed.

Finally, Zapu, the founder and authentic liberation movement of Zimbabwe, does not deserve to be attacked by a notorious wife-snatcher and classical political opportunist of Mr Sipepa-Nkomo’s calibre.
