Oedipus Premiers at HIFA- in Pictures






















Above are scenes from the play Oedipus. The cast which included well known names such as Noel Marerwa, John Pfumojena, Charity Dhlodhlo and Edene Timbe gave a rousing performance.

The play tells the story about a King who goes mad after he discovers that he killed his own father and unkowingly married his mother. Is is said that the play was written around 430 BC.

Adapted by Giles Ramsay (UK) and Directed by the former along with Blessing Hungwe (Zimbabwe).


"I'm looking for my husband's bones."





The woman found the "bones" and was reunited with her husband. Around her the mess of bones and garbage is cleaned up.





A solo singer does a rendition of "Money's Too Tight to Mention" in an apprent allusion to the tight economic condition that still prevails in Zimbabwe.





Having fun at the Mokoomba concert. The picture above this one shows another scene of joy from the same show. Mokoomba is a Tonga music group that Hails from Victoria Falls.
