MONDAYS PICS FROM ZIMBABWE......15/12/08

According to a United Nations forecast, a full scale humanitarian emergency is needed in Zimbabwe by January 2009 with more than 5 million people, about half the population needing food aid by the beginning of the year.

MDC accused President Robert Mugabe's government of planning to institute a state of emergency as an excuse to disregard rule of law. "We have no doubt as a party ZUNU PF that they are going to to declare a state of emergency " stated Biti.






Zimbabwe's opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Secretary-General Tendai Biti (C) addresses a news conference in Harare December 15, 2008. MDC said on Monday it was ready to participate in any new election, as long as it was under international supervision. MDC Secretary-General Tendai Biti said the party would reject a poll held under the ruling ZANU-PF's terms.
