Kids Dying Of Hunger In Zimbabwe

Sky News has obtained new evidence of the scale of the humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe where children are dying of starvation because of food shortages.

Filming secretly inside the country, we also found proof that Robert Mugabe is using his security forces to try to hide the crisis from the world.

In one hospital ward in the eastern province of Manicaland we saw 15 children suffering from severe malnutrition. Mothers clutching their thin infants told us they were getting sicker in the hospital because there was no food there, just milk.

One girl, aged four, could no longer stand because she was so weak.
The hospital is one of several across the country which have been targeted by Zimbabwe's

police force as part of an organised campaign to "cover up" the true impact of Mugabe's rule.

Parirenyatwa Hospital Suspends Admissions

HARARE - Parirenyatwa Hospital, one of the largest referral hospitals in Harare has stopped hospital admissions with immediate effect due to a chronic shortage of staff, drugs and food.

“As much as we would love to admit patients we do not have the drugs and food to give these patients and so we are turning them away,’ a nurse told Radio VOP.

As the economic situation continue to deteriorate, qualified doctors, nurses and other support staff continue to desert the health sector in droves for the United Kingdom, South Africa and Botswana.

In a sad turn of events this week the hospital was turning away seriously ill patients as there was nobody to attend them and neither were the drugs and food to give them available.

While the world calls for more sanctions and people are shouting about ''boycotting'' Zimbabwean goods children are dieing and unable to recieve medical care,food,education,shelter......
